On Call Art Handler

Allison & Ross Fine Art Services is a premier fine art services company specializing in fine art installation, museum quality frame crafting, pedestal and plinths, and custom hardware.

Our company is seeking a detail-oriented self-starter to serve as an part-time, on call art handler for our growing business.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and pack artwork for transportation, storage, or shipping
• Complete required paperwork to ensure accuracy (work orders, inventories, bills of lading, and other required operational documents)
• Complete condition notes and documentation as required
• Take directions from lead installer to complete the desired task
• Work and communicate directly with clients
• Assist lead art handler as needed to install, deinstall, pack, or transport artworks
• Occasional after-hours work

Requirements

• Minimum two years’ experience handling artwork
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Knowledge of archival methodologies and materials
• Familiar with art history and basic art terminology
• Specialized involvement and knowledge in handling artwork
• Professional demeanor
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Comfortable on a ladder
• Follow instructions well and be able to work directly with clients
• Work well with others
• Ability to work independently

Compensation

$24.00 - $34.00 per hour DOE
